Chicago, IL:

This fountain was sculpted by George Wade for both humans and animals to use. It was erected in 1893 and was proudly displayed at the Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Nicknamed “The Little Cold Water Girl,” the fountain went missing in the 1950s and was recast later using the original molds.

Decatur, IL:

Paid by Thomas Davis, this 23,000 pound Missouri red granite drinking fountain was donated by the WCTU to the city. As opposed to earlier fountains, which required a common cup to drink, this fountain had small jets of water in a vertical direction and was more sanitary.

Dixon, IL:

Standing in front of City Hall, the Dixon fountain was erected in June of 1912 and offered a sanitary drinking fountain for the town. Later in 1972, the city attempted to sell the fountain and was unsuccessful, so the fountain still stands in the same spot today.

Sullivan, IL:

On the Moultrie County Court House Lawn, this WCTU fountain was erected in 1905. Later in 1983, the fountain was refurbished and rededicated, and the WCTU symbols in the center construction were replaced with two cupids beneath an umbrella. This new symbol was different from the typical WCTU bow image.
