About This Exhibit

This digital exhibit was created by Elisabeth Heissner, a senior history student at Loyola University Chicago, in winter 2022. This exhibit was based on the booklet, WCTU Drinking Fountains, by Sarah F. Ward, supplemented by additional information and images from the WCTU Archives and from other external resources.

The fountain maps for each state were creatd by Elisabeth Heissner.

Special thanks to Lori Osborne and Janet Olson of the Frances Willard House Museum & WCTU Archives for supervising this project; to Cate Whitcomb for her initial work on the digital exhibit; and especially to Sarah Ward, whose interest and extensive research formed the basis of the project.
